SACUA Member Nomination

The Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs (SACUA) is the executive arm of the University Senate and of theĀ Senate Assembly. SACUA meets weekly and consists of nine members of the Senate Assembly elected by the Assembly for three-year terms. On behalf of the Assembly, SACUA advises and consults with the President, Provost, and the Executive Officers of the University on matters of University policy. SACUA also coordinates and initiates governance activities and serves as an instrument for implementing the actions of the University Senate and the Senate Assembly.

To be eligible:

  • Must be a member of the U-M Faculty Senate (see here)
  • Must have served on Senate Assembly OR
  • Must have served on a Senate Assembly Committee

Term: (3) Three-Year Term

Expectation:

  • To attend SACUA meetings every Monday from 3:15-5 during the Academic Year. Summer meetings may be scheduled.
  • To attend monthly Senate Assembly meetings (Sept-April)
  • To serve as SACUA Liason on at least (2) two Senate Assembly Committees
